My father has Diabetes and has cataract 100%. Getting good doctor consultancy is tough. His diabetes is under control now after treatment 140 before fast and 170 after lunch. Considering above condition I have following questions: Can someone suggest whats better for this situation ? ----> mono-focal or multi-focal ? Which company ? ----> Alcon or Symfony ? Do you guys have experience with Symfony (Extended Range of Vision) ? I read its good because its better than regular IOL mono-focals, is that true ? Any known issues with above Symfony lense ? Thanks, Jiten

Considering father had diabetes, don't complicate his life further. Go for monofocal & leave choice on operating doctor.
