The coin and other foreign bodies as we call swallowed objects, get stuck behind vocal cords in a space called Pyriform Fossa, from where it niether goes ahead nor can be vomited out. It causes irritation to tissues and lots of swelling. Taking it out is the job of an ENT surgeon and it is done under general anaesthesia in an operation theatre. Go to one quickly before it gets embedded in swelling, and the surgery becomes 'bloody'.
Next Steps
Contact an ENT SURGEON. let him investigate with the right views of x-ray neck.
Health Tips
DO NOT TRY GYMNASTICS AT HOME. THERE IS A CHOKING HAZARD.
