Mother abuses & father reacts violently
Me and my younger brother witnessing domestic violence since my childhood. I'm 31 now. And I want to put an end to this. I think my mother has some mental illness and my father doesn't understand that. Mother keeps abusing us, specially my father for not treating her well after marriage. She uses very insulting words that anyone could get angry. She is a problematic person. I hate her since childhood. That's why I didn't think father getting violent was a bad thing. But as I got older I know that what ever is going in my house is really bad. It also caused me anxiety and depression problems but thankfully I've recovered from all. Now I want to treat my mothers illness. Please suggest me whom should I be visiting for this problem, a psychiatrist, psychologist or family counselor?

Consult a psychiatrist. Since it's a long term illness it needs to be diagnosed properly 1st. N at dis stage counseling is unlikely to work.

A psychologist could also be a family Counselor. Do consult a psychologist in your city personally along with your mother.
