Hi, my mom is 50 yrs old. She recently had ultrasonography of abdomen and pelvis. A mobile calculus of size 3mm is seen in Gall bladder. Will it be removed automatically by its own by drinking more water or Is it something to worry? Pls suggest.

Gall stones unlike small renal stones can't be flushed out...if you have pain because of gall bladder stones then it requires surgery... nowadays with laparoscopic surgery it can be removed with very small (5-10mm) scar with a day of hospital stay...u can gat back to work early

No, the stone can’t be removed by drinking water. The size of the stone is small and if it’s not causing any trouble then it can be ignored. Symptoms to lookout for would be pain in the right side of abdomen or the upper abdomen, pain after eating food etc
If these are present then u need to go for an intervention.
[ ] Hi if there is no upper abdominal pain / post meal fullness / discomfort / upper back pain , then you don't require surgery. This is asymptomatic gall stone. In case you develop any of above symptoms then you require surgery. Any stone more than 1 CMS in size needs removal of gall bladder. There is no any medicines in present world to dissolve gall bladder stone. Laparoscopic approach is gold standard for gall bladder removal.
