MILK TOOTH + BRACES
I'm 19,Male,74kg. I recently consulted a dentist for my badly aligned tooth in the front. He says,I've got 3 Milk teeth. Milk tooth has not fallen & permanent tooth has come behind it[a bit far]. He said milk tooth should be removed first & then I've have to put braces for 2-3 years.
1. Is there a faster & better treatment option other than braces[as I can't wait for 3 years].
2. Will the braces work at this age? Is putting braces really worth it?
3. I've heard removing a tooth manually can affect the roots & causes problem in future. Does it apply in my case??

Just go for removal of milk teeth followed by ortho treatment. And yes time can be minimize after pulling the inside tooth surgically and then it can be alinged by braces.Consult orthodontist and oral surgeon.

orthodontic treatment is the best treatment and conservative treatment. And you can go for braces at this age. And there is no harm to the roots while removing the teeth.

the best treatment available in your situation is braces..age is not a factor...its worth the time...no problems will occur to other teeth or roots with a good,properly done extraction

1. Braces treatment usually takes about 1-2 years. Unfortunately the treatment is slow but that is because teeth have to be moved in desired positions and this process needs careful controlled forces which have to be applied slowly.
2. Braces work at all ages. And putting braces is definitely the best option.
3. Removing teeth in order to gain space is perfectly normal and does not cause any problems at all.

Hello,
Removal of your milkteeth is very much necessary....
If u could upload your full mouth X-ray we can predict if the teeth inside ur jaw will actually erupt or not...
Considering your age the Orthodontic tooth movement is generally fast...
And also there are certain procedures which can be done to increase the tooth movement rapidly..
And I don't think so there will be a problem in future as long u keep wearing retainers

Removal of milk teeth is a mandatory procedure .
Extended time for braces as we will have to probably wait for the permanent teeth to erupt on its own or bring it into position with braces. In both cases it takes a lot of time .
The procedure is usually successful irrespective of the age.
The only short cut treatment is to get rid of milk tooth and its associated permanent teeth and get implants instead. But really at your age braces will be a better option .
Lastly removal of tooth manually or however is not gonna effect anything

You need to get the milk teeth removed first before starting with the braces treatment.Though the treatment duration is long,it would be the best for you in terms of long term benefits.It nis definitely worth it.

Hello, yes over retained milk teeth need to be removed before starting your treatment. Might also need prophylactic cleaning and fillings etc before starting orthodontic treatment.
1- Orthodontic treatment should be considered first to correct mal-aligned teeth which might take 6 month to 3years depending on the severity on an average 1.5 years. We can plan cosmetic correction for fast results but case selection is important for good result so need to see clinically.
2- Yes, braces will work for your age. Worth in terms of saving your teeth material as it is least invasive compared to other fast options.
3- oh.. Every dentist has to answer this question to most of our parents, answer is 'No'. It's a myth, we need to remove teeth manually, I have not seen any computerized or robotic tooth removal system around me, might come in future. Don't worry discuss with your dentist and go ahead with planned treatment options.

Hi, after consulting Orthodontist (braces specialist) if he has suggested to remove milk teeth which should be followed to get desired results.For badly aligned there is no alternate treatment than braces & this age is the right age to go for braces.This is misconception that removing tooth manually affects the roots.

Badly aligned tooth is detrimental both esthetically and medically as it increases the chances of tooth infection and gum infection of oral cavity.
1. Braces treatment is definitely a better treatment option for you but time can be reduced to 16-18 months with proper treatment planning.
2. Braces is feasible for any age group and yes it is always better to realign your natural tooth in a more favorable position.
3. Removal of tooth mechanically can cause no problem if all the sterilization protocols are taken care of. Regards.
