Mild ulcerative proctitis
I was diagnosed with mild ulcerative proctitis and i was on medication for two years . Now my doctor told me to stop my medication . I consume alcohol hardly thrice a month that too on social gatherings . i would like to know whether the alcohol I consume is safe ? and sometimes i come across pencil thin stools . Is it normal?

Hello, I understand your question well. Unfortunately there is no safe limit for alcohol. Alcohol consumption can't be recommended.Though this wont affect your ulcerative proctitis.Pencil thin stools can be normal and you need not worry about them. Hope this helps Regards Dr Samir Patil
