Menstrual problems
Hello, I am a female, 27 year old. I got my period on 27-28 of December, 2024. I had unprotected sex on 1st of jan, and had the unwanted 72 on the same day after 1 hour. I started suddenly bleeding on 6th Jan, followed by excessive lower abdominal cramps. I am still bleeding. Why is it happening? Can I take any medicine to stop it? Is there a chance of pregnancy?

Yes, you can take medication to stop the bleeding and also you can take the medication for abdominal cramps. It might be due to withdrawal bleeding of the hormones. There are very less chances of pregnancy, but still you need to be cautious.
Next Steps
It's better to consult a doctor before using a medication as proper history is needed

It is happening because of withdrawal bleeding. You had sex on 1 January, that is 3 days after your last period. And you had emergency contraception about an hour after that. There was no chance of pregnancy but emergency contraception will certainly cause withdrawal bleeding.
