After meniscus repair, it’s common to experience ankle or heel discomfort if your gait (walking pattern) changes or if muscle tightness develops due to reduced activity. The morning heel pain may also suggest plantar fascia tightness or altered weight bearing after surgery.
Probable causes:
• Altered gait mechanics post-surgery
• Tight calf and plantar fascia
• Weak quadriceps or ankle stabilizers
• Improper footwear or prolonged immobilization
Next Steps
If pain persists beyond 1–2 weeks or worsens, consult me to reassess gait, knee alignment, and foot biomechanics.
Icing 2 times a day 15 min
Keep leg elevated
Ankle pumps ankle circles
Heel slide
Static quads and straight leg raises
Hamstring curls and mini squats pain free
Calf stretching
Stationary cycle
