My mother in law has been diagonised today with manic ATPD. She was admitted in hospital 2 days back when she had a sort of seizure all of a sudden when her eyes were popping out and she became completely non responsive and then slowly became unconscious. We immediately admitted her to hospital thinking it was a stroke. CT was normal and later MRI also showed that there was no stroke. Preceeding the attack she used to report some hallucination of being in conversation with God (Shiva & Krishna) and also hearing Shiva songs which she strongly believed. We told the doctors about this also. All other blood & urine reports and also ecg & eeg are normal.
She has finally been diagonised with manic ATPD and discharged today. Prescribed Risdone LS, BD.
PL let me know if the type of seizure she had can happen in manic ATPD and if the medicine prescribed is ok. Is the disease curable or she has to take the medicine for life.
Thanks & Regards
