Hi, Welcome to Practo, The chance of lung cancer is higher in smoker and some studies hav found incidence as high as 20 times than non smoke. Calculating individual risk to a person is not possible. But the side effects of smoking include many disease other than cancer also in smokers. It's always advisable for you to stop smoking for your and your family benefit. Smoking also increase risk of asthma induced damage to lung and early development of COPD.
