Just  going by your statement, a 29 yr old male with no injury stated -  you don't have to worry too much. We often  find ourselves working with abnormal postures, which leads to some group of muscles becoming short & tight,  while others to become too long and weak. Studies after studies have shown that 95% of the back pain cases do not require surgery. Are you one of those? Most likely, but as also advised by Dr Francis, a detailed exam should be done.
Next Steps
Connect with your local physiotherapist / occupational therapist. You may see your pain subsiding in 3 -  4 weeks!
Health Tips
As I always say,  even after surgery, you'll need therapy for at least 2 months,  why not give therapy a try now before someone cuts you open!
