Lower back pain
I am having lower back pain which is spreading towards right hip towards foot. Undergoing physio also from past 5 days but not much effect. Applying hot and cold pack from past few days as well. While lying down there is relief, but walking and sitting gives pain.

Dear friend Go for the proper investigation procedure first which is XRay to see what is the exact problem, than proceed to the treatment part.

Apply Hot Fomentation twice daily. Avoid bending in front. Postural Correction- Sit Tall, Walk Tall. Extension Exercises x 15 times x twice daily - lying on tummy, take left arm up for 3 seconds, then bring it down, right arm up for 3 seconds, bring down. Bring right leg up, hold for 3 seconds, bring it down. Then right leg up and hold for 3 seconds and bring it down. Repeat twice a day- 10 times. Bhujang Asana -- Lie flat on your stomach, keeping the palms out, bend the neck backward, take a deep breath and while holding it for 6 seconds, raise the chest up. Release breath and relax your body. Repeat the exercise 15 times twice daily. Core Strengthening Exercises- Straight Leg Raised With Toes Turned Outward, repeat 10 times, twice a day.

It seems to be a Disc prolapse as brought out by other collegues but the diagnosis can be pinpointed only by a physical examination. The cause has to be ascertained and treated. Your profession, age, gait, posture etc need to be examined.

All the opinion are good.. 1 u need rest ,take the adviced  medicine . And follow the different resting position of spine. 2 correct ur weight and working ergonomic environment 3.add the suitable exercise in ur daily  routine life.. It will take 3-4 week to recover, u r sufring from sciatica.. Get well soon.. Have a. Happy pain free life.

In my opinion the problem is at L4 - L 5 level where the nerve is getting compressed.. so kindly continue with physio sessions and go for few tests like vitamin b 12 , vitamin d , calcium as becoz of if these levels are derranged den these kind of pain aggravates... take tab. Gabanuron 300once a day at bedtime.. that will help reducing the radiating pain and in this kind of pain hot fermentation will be better than hot and cold fermentation...get well soon take care

FROM THE HISTORY THAT YOU ARE GIVING IT LOOKS THAT YOU MAY BE HAVING PROLAPSED INTERVERTEBRAL DISC AT PROBABLY AT L5S1 or L4L5 LEVELS . IF YOUR RADIATING PAIN DOESNT SUBSIDE THEN YOU NEED TO DO MRI OF LS SPINE WITH SCREENING OF WHOLE SPINE ALSO DO X RAY LS SPINE AP AND LATERAL VIEW AND LATERAL VIEW IN FLEXION AND EXTENSION X RAY PBH AP VIEW ALSO IN PHYSIO ASK YOUR PHYSIOTHERAPHY TO START ON IFT IE INTERFERENTIAL THERAPHY TAKE FOLLOWING MEDICATION AFTER CONSULTING YOUR DOCTOR ANALGESIC WITH A MUSCLE RELAXANT ANTACID BEFORE FOOD VITAMIN B12 1500 Mcgms once a day Neurotonic But strictly before starting the MEDICATION you need to consult a doctor and know whether you are allergic to any medication or not .

It seems like sciatica pain due to PIVD. Ask your physiotherapist to explain you about the reason for this pain and how much time it will take. And be patient with your physiotherapy sessions as in some cases it take time may be 15 days or so. take care

No opinion can be made unless and until you are diagnosed correctly there are several reasons of (LBA) low back ache. The radiating of pain occurs in sciatica which is compression of sciatic nerve . Which depending on the intensity/ severity can be addressed and managed by few exercises and stretches. But to be fully cured you need to make some lifestyle changes , so that the problem never occurs again . Which usually depends upon your occupation. Please consult a nearest occupational therapist regarding this. It will be great to start of with an MRI SPINE so as to accurately define the intensity and extent of the problem. And then start off with exercises and lifestyle and habbit changes. Stay Healthy
