Low back pain
Hello, Few years back i was having lower back pain on my right side. I think it came due to improper lifting or pushing a heavy object. I felt pain after walking long distances and for few minutes in bed. Pain was there for few years. I started physiotherapy for it. It was there after i did physio exercises. Then after i left physio in few months it went away. Now it has completely gone. I can walk long distances with no pain and i cant feel any pain in lower back. Was it a muscle spasm or something else? I never went to any doctor as the pain was always mild. Can i continue gymming exercises?? I am not doing lower back exercises from some time. Should i do those exercises regularly. Please suggest..

"All is well that ends well" Yes you should do abdominal & static back extension exercises on regular basis to prevent the pain to come back and maintain good tone of the muscles.

Dear client congratulation as you are out of your apathy now as you dont have pain you can continue with u r exercises and do not bother about its recurrence it lloks to be SIJ strain that can be very well corrected by a skilled physio within limited time, any ways there could be recurrences then you should stop any agravating activity and see some physio who can fix it for you!

The given signs and symptoms suggest it as right lumbo-sacral joint strain . A positional fault of the joint (cause can vary from lifting weight to awkward sitting posture or climbing uphill on ramp or a fall on one side) can put stress on the ligament which holds the joint. Manual therapy techniques by a skilled physiotherapist can make a patient symptom free with a few manipulative procedures. Exercises are also advised to tone up the supporting muscles so as to relieve the stressed ligament. Sitting with crossed legs, sitting on uneven surface, lifting heavy weights, slips and falls in weight bearing etc can trigger the strain. However you may consider spinal extension exercises which will tone up and reduce the risk of recurrence.
