Loose motions
My baby is suffering from loose motions from past three days yesterday doctor gave prilobiotic and colistin sulphate oral suspension how much time will he take to recover are these medications safe baby is 5.5 months old

Hey... I understand your concern . Loose motion in babies are stressful to both baby and mother. But do not worry... more often than not babies pass small amount of stool 3-7 times a day . If that is not the case then I will need more data . Kindly consult so we can discuss this matter further.

This is a good recovering illness . Proper planning will definitely make it comfortable for the baby.

If baby is having watery stools, give WHO ORS after each loose motion as much as baby drinks... Continue pro biotic.. If baby become dull, and irritable visit your doctor again for reassessment of baby...

If ur baby is passing loose stool And no blood in motion, no  fever   and active Baby Then Don't give antibiotic at all Just keep ur baby well hydrated Watch for urine output Give water Milk ORS  Continue probiotics only
