Loose Motion
Hello Doctor,
My 7 days old baby went for motion thrice in last half an hour .it seems to be loose motion.He is formula fed and manual pump breast fed from mother.Does he need any medicines right now?
Kindly suggest.

Hi thanks for writing to Practo consult.
Babies as such may pass more number of motions in first few days of life. Normal range can be 8 times a day yo once in 4-5 days. Provided baby is calm, not irritable, no fever, active , no rash around anus, and taking feed every 2-3 hours you need not worry.
Next Steps
As baby is just neonate, do not take a chance and better yo consult pediatrician in person.
