Leaking valve and shrink
My Nani has been diagnosed with leaking valve valve shrinkage after a recent complain of chest discomfort..her angiography is due..plz tell me is there any risk involved in angiography at this age and how effective and risk free is the surgery involved if required after angiography..she has high bp but that is controlled with medicine..otherwise she has no other illness

At her age, especially if aortic valve is shrunken valve it carries about two percent risk and surgery risk depends on weather only valve surgery (5-10%) is needed or valve plus cabg(15-20%) but exact risk has to be quntified by treating surgoen. But most of the times benefits always outweigh the risk unless there are other comorbidities. Please discuss with your cardiologist and go ahead with surgery
