Your clinical picture does not tally with your MRI report.
Kindly get your MRI reviwed at the same centre or in another centre.
In a very busy centre, it is possible that patient 'A' films are reported in patient 'B' report sheet.
This discrepancy in clinical presentation & investigative report should be reassessed before decision for surgery is taken.

Please believe your doctor and get your surgery done to prevent future problems of your knee. Please do not get such silly doubts that somebody giving wrong report about the MRI .Hey Bhagwan where has this world come to people not believing the best radiological investigation on earth . I can't believe whether this is heights of ignorance or heights of oversmartness. God bless and help them
Yes ur mri is showing ligament injury. As the time passes u will feel better for sure.after couple of months u will feel almost alright. But u will come under category of Acl deficient knee. Which may show it's effect after few years. There may be chances of early onset arthritis and menisacal damage.which will be a difficult situation for ur knee to manege
.if u are active person involved in sports as profession or hobby then I suggest u go for surgery once ur knee is quiet.
Interesting, maybe you are able to walk as the swelling is subsiding after immobilization. That is the usual case in these kinds of injuries. MRI is done to support clinical diagnosis. We practice evidence-based medicine. Unfortunately, the doctor does not have the ability to magically see into your body. I suggest you start taking your health seriously and go to a doctor whom you can trust. This platform is not meant for emergencies like these.
Even if your ligaments are torn you may be able to walk properly. If you try to play games Sports climb up and down stairs or do strenuous activity, you will find that your knee is slipping from inside and is not able to take the weight of your body. If this happens it means that the remaining ligaments are not able to adequately support your knee
Doing the surgery is not an emergency nor is it urgent. However if your knee is unstable and you continue to walk or do strenuous activity it moves in an abnormal manner and causes injury to the cartilage inside, which in turn leads to Arthritis of the knee in the long run.
If you have any doubt regarding the MRI, you should get it repeated at a different centre, it will yield the same result
