I am 28 yrs of age and one day found that my bp is 140/100 and heart beat is 138 so i went to a cardio he started a medicine telma and inderal. he said cause is anxiety. though i do not have any familiar problem of bp. my point is that at this age do i need to take the medicine for lifetime? my height is 176cm and weight is 88 kg. please make this doubt clear. i had a echo also but its normal no effect on heart. and can anxiety be measured in echo?

Hello,
You are overweight. You can modify your lifestyle by doing regular exercise and weight reduction it will help in reducing your bp. And anxiety can not be seen in echo its in your thought. If after doing lifestyle modifications also your bp remains high then you may have to take medicines lifelong.
