Dear Ma'am, Thank you for your query regarding abnormal menstrual flow and emergency contraception. I have noted the use of progestrogens and emergency contraception in this cycle. 1. After regulation of a menstrual cycle with medication, abnormalities of normal flow do occur so rest assured. 2.   Kindly do a urine pregnancy test andd inform before starting the medication below. 3. For heaviness and pain you could take Tablet Meftal-spas (Mefenamic Acid) 1 tablet 3 times a day after meals for the next few days till the cycles stop for symptomatic relief. Please mention if you have any specific drug allergies or intolerance to the drug prescribed. 4. Also please consider using regular contraception, rather than emergency contraception as it would be healthier. Please consult your Obstetrician for options and contraceptive counselling. 5. Regular PAP smear to detect cervical cancer and use of condoms for prevention of sexually transmitted infections would optimise reproductive health. Do let me know if there are any further queries. Best Regards, Aditi
