Irregular periods
I am having irregular periods since april,i have not had any medication ,i had periods with regular flow only twice since april,and i have got some acne and facial hairs also after that, so please tell me what is to be done so that periods become regular

Get Urinary pregnancy test, Serum TSH, Serum Prolactin, Serum Testosterone, FSH/LH, Transabdominal ultrasound tests done to rule out the problem. You are likely to have a hormonal imbalance which might be causing irregular periods. Visit a gynecologist for further evaluation and treatment. This is the onset of hormone imbalance  which cannot be treated with pills and shots.

Dear Ma'am, Thank you for your query regarding irregular menstrual cycles. To determine the cause of menstrual irregularity,  it is essential to systematic rule out specific etiology to ensure accurate diagnosis. You would need - Detailed history taking and full clinical examination. -Urinary pregnancy test. - serum TSH. - Serum Prolactin. - Serum Testosterone / FSH/LH. - Transabdominal ultrasound. After these investigations a diagnosis shall be made. Common causes for menstrual irregularity include. - Polycystic ovarian disease. - Thyroid disorders - Hypothalamopituiary axis abnormalities. - Hyperprolactenemia.
