With a haemoglobin level of 10 g/dL and low ferritin and vitamin B12, your body is clearly showing nutritional deficiencies, which can lead to fatigue, breathlessness, hair fall, and poor immunity if not corrected. While supplements are often prescribed short term, long-term correction should focus mainly on diet, especially at your age. - Include iron-rich plant foods regularly such as green leafy vegetables (spinach, amaranth leaves), millets (bajra, ragi), legumes, lentils, beans, dates, raisins and garden cress seeds (halim). - Pair iron-rich meals with vitamin C sources (lemon, amla, oranges, guava) to improve iron absorption. - Avoid tea or coffee within 1 hour of iron-rich meals, as they reduce absorption. - To improve B12 levels include milk, curd, paneer, buttermilk, and if non-vegetarian, eggs and fish. B12 absorption is often poor from food alone in many adults, so consistency is important.

Hello mam In the situation when your haemolytic and ferritin levels are low you must be feeling tired, feeling low and sometimes lethargic in conducting even your day to day activities like n situations like this diet with supplements will improve your health sooner than following only iron rich diet. Since they have prescribed only for 1 month to 45 days pls follow your doctors diet , in the meantime it is also required to improve the quality of food you take( quality I mean increase the intake of those foods which will help increase the haemolytic level in n the blood. Pls include greens, dates, coloured vegetables( like beetroot, carrots etc), in case you do not have any like cholesterol, cod or diabetes it is advisable to add some particular types of meat esp eggs atleast four times a week. For further personalized diet will la contact me through Practo

Yes, you should take the supplements as prescribed—based on the values you shared (Hb 10 g/dL with low ferritin and low B12), they are appropriate and commonly recommended. They are not something to “avoid” in your situation.

Supplements are better for time being only. Better is to work on your root cause that is the absorption and metabolism rate. Once you will start absorpting nutrients from the meal taken you will not require any supplements or vitamins. For these supplements, you can take them for time being and start working on your metabolism rate
