Inferiority complex
I feel my dad is suffering from inferiority complex and addiction with drinking. We are thinking to admit him at a rehabilitation center. Can anyone suggest me whether he has to undergo counseling before getting admitted at a rehabilitation or if anything else can be done.

Counselling will also definitely help him out. The reason for the low self esteem could be identified and rectified.
As far as the addiction is concerned I need to understand how badly it has affected him. Then you all can decide about the rehabilitation center.

Hello, in cases of Substance dependence like alcohol, drugs, it is very important to know that if the person is motivated enough to leave the substance. I would suggest that take him to a psychiatrist for proper evaluation, mental as well as physical condition. Counseling or therapy is helpful after the person is sober and off the substance.
