Increasing frequency of stools is common in toddlers. Most commonly it could be because of acute gastroenteritis. Foul smell could be because of infection. Most common source of infection is through water contamination
Next Steps
Make sure your baby is adequately hydrated (on an average they should pass urine atleast 7-8 times per day) Do not panic as any viral infection will usually take 5-7 days from time of onset ORS to be given after every loose stool to prevent dehydration Sporlac sachets 1 sachet thrice daily to be mixed in 2 tsp water and given Water as and when required Diet : Banana, sabudana, ragi java, khichidi, moong dal Z&D drops 1ml once daily
Health Tips
In case of baby dull and lethargic consult your doctor at the earliest Maintaining hydration is the key.
