Im bleeding in between my periods

Asked for Female, 16 Years

Im 16 and i haven't had sex. i have been on the pill for 2 years due to having heavy periods and i know that if i miss a pill i will start my period as normal and it will last about 5 days like my normal period does. i have recently started bleeding between periods which has never happened before over these 2 years and i have definitely not missed any pills and if i had i know i would bleed like my regular period whereas this is just spotting for a couple of days randomly. what could this be
