Hi there. Has a fungal infection being proven? Scraping for KOH smear is best to do this.. simple and easily done even in a rural setting. Also, have other members of your family especially close contacts like spouse been checked and does anyone else have a similar condition? Any contact with pets eg 🐶 or gardening etc and soil contact may decide if you have more resistant types of zoonotic or geophylic Fungus that may require longer duration of treatment Any underlying co morbidities like Diabetes?
Next Steps
Online Consultation and a detailed discussion will be in order to prescribe medications.
Health Tips
Treatment is best continued for 1-2 weeks post total clinical clearance Treatment of Fomites eg clothes etc is important to prevent recurrences Choice of Antifungals depends on case to case basis and history of treatment as fungal resistance is on the rise in the community.
