I Am pregnant. Doctor not gave medicine
I am 6week pregnant now. But I was not prescribed any nutritional supplements such as folic acid or multivitamins tablets. Will there be any concern if I don't take these supplements? I am a vegetarian and generally have basic food only. I am in Japan now. I heard from other people that here generally doctor never prescribes any medicine. I need help please suggest what should I do. I was called to hospital after 7th weeks for few blood tests and see baby's heart in ultrasound.

You may get prenatal vitamins over-the-counter hopefully if not prescribed.
Next Steps
look for multivitamins containing at least 400mcg of folic acid
Health Tips
if you have any special risk factors you may need a higher dose of folic acid
