Hypothyroidism - Could be autoimmune?
I am a young adult female with a family history of hypothyroidism. I recently got a blood test and came back with raised TSH indicating hypothyroidism, with positive thyroperoxidase antibodies. My doctor said this could be Graves disease but I looked around and it seems Graves is mostly associated with hyperthyroidism, not hypo. Could you please help explain this?

If the tsh is raised and thyroid peroxidase antibodies are positive, you are suffering from hypothyroidism, most likely autoimmune. You will require thyroid hormone replacements.
