My mom(55 yrs) has been suffering from rheumatoid arthritis and has done her knees and hip replacement with artificial joints. Now her shoulder and neck joints are wearing out.Her doctor suggested to take up Humira.
How effective is Humira on such worse case of Rheumatoid arthritis? Will this bring a permanent relief for her? Is there any other alternatives than this.?

Humira is very good drug to control inflammation in rheumatoid arthritis but it will not improve the damaged joint. if shoulder are damaged that is X ray shows reduced joint space or irregular bone margins, replacement will be better option, humira will not be much effective. humira is effective only till used. Take second opinion of rheumatologist, there are many in bengaluru
