How many meals in a day?

How many times one should take meals in a day? Some says 3 times, and some says 5-6 times. The motor in our body generally takes 3 hours to move food from small intestine. If we take frequent meals(5-6), won't it create problem for motility and cause SIBO(small intestinal bacterial overgrowth)? P.S I have IBS-C

Hi....., 3 meals in a day is sufficient enough.. If your aim is to build the body then, Have six meals in a day – three big meals and three small. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner should be heavy and calorie-rich....There are various other factors that results in SIBO.... Drink plenty of liquids. Try to drink plenty of fluids every day. Water is best....Avoid caffeine, tea, other beverages... Eat at regular times. Don't skip meals, and try to eat about the same time each day to help regulate bowel function...Exercise regularly...
