Hello there.
I can understand your concern.
Yes, they have some effects and i don't know wether that are "side" for you or not.
That is, they will lower your blood pressure and will prevent you from dying from high pressure related causes.
If you have ever smoked, consumed alcohol, taken foods that are not good for your health then think about the "side effects" of those also.
The very air you breathe in has so many pollutants which have a lot of I'll effects but I'm sure you won't stop breathing would you?
