High TSH of 9.4
Hi, In a recent Health check camp my TSH level was 9.4. Few months back it was 7.3 with normal T3-115 and T4-8.5. I have been advised to take Thyronorm 25 for 6 months. When can I expect the TSH levels to be normal and do I need to continue with medication even after this normalises?

You must be having some symptoms like dry skin, increase in weight inspite of reduced appetite & food intake, feeling cold, sleepiness, fatigue etc. If non eof the symptoms are there, you should have got it tested from different Lab. It will take some time before you can expect reduction in TSH. Observe your symptoms. Normally it should take 4-6 weeks for TSH of this level to come normal. Dose adjustment may be required but since you are mildly Hypothyroid, you should be controlled with this dose.
