I went to see a  cardiologist and he said he can't prescribe me any medicine for high Lp(a) alone. He asked me to do ECG, Ecocardiography and stress test as my blood pressure was normal and i don't have any chest pain.  I did some research & found out that there is a medicine called PCSK9 inhibitors that can directly reduce Lp(a) to about 40-50%. Iam looking for a doctor who can give me proper knowledge about Lp(a) and the things I can do reduce Lp(a) directly. I have a question, Q) Can regular blood donations reduce Lp(a) levels in blood?

Elevated Lp (a) may be genetic and increase the risk of heart attack and stroke later in the life. Unfortunately there are no medicines known to reduce LP(a) effectively. Lipoprotein apheresis just like dialysis is the only effective form to reduce LP (a). Statins and PCSK 9 inhibitors mainly used to reduce LDL cholesterol.
