I am 56 yrs old male patient with 18yrs of diabetes.I had a surgery for Fournier gangrene recently.For the last 15 days i have been on medication of insulin for 4 times a day along with metformin 500gm tablet. However the fasting blood glucose is always over 200 .I take medicines for BHP and hypertension. Why is my levels of BG so high even on insulin +metformin prescription ...?

When did you undergo surgery ? The sugars tend to be a bit high for some time in the post operative period. Your dose of insulin will need to be increased temporarily. Also, I would like to consider using other oral tablets too.
