I'm 34 year old I m taking metoprolo succinate 50 mg in morning after meal to control my high BP approx 145/100 . Will it suitable for me and will it control my bp every time . Is there any side effects on eye or heart. Plse give me opinion and elaborate it.

Metoprolol is not a first line antihypertensive medicine.There are medicines from different classes to be used under the supervision of your physician,to control your BP.
Metoprolol is not used for BP management initially.
Lifestyle changes should be considered -
1. Low Sodium Salt (Tata Superlite)
2. Weight Loss
3. Aerobic exercise (Moderate Intensity atleast 150mins/week)
4. Weight Lifting atleast 2 sessions/week.
5. Mindfulness meditation.
