Heel bone pain after walking may be due to thickening of ligament or tendon attachments ( Plantar fasciitis or Achilles tendinopathy - depending on location go the heel pain). This condition is unlikely due to your old ankle injury.
Next Steps
if the pain is mild and intermittent, you can start simple measures like stretching exercises for the achilles (ankle) and plantar fascia (foot).
