Hi, There is a lot of hype about this particular issue. A lot of this is also because of excessive focus on such events and not essentially due to anything else. I would not advise a routine blood test before you join a gym. I would instead advise the following 1. Start a regular calorie counted diet plan 2. Do not take anabolic steroids for building muscle 3. Start slow, do not try to reach your gym targets swiftly. Slow and steady. 4. Do avoid smoking and alcohol use Lastly, if you have a family history of heart disease, do consult so that I can decide if you need any kind of testing.
Next Steps
Please don't do a vitamin d level. it's common practice but it's not necessary
Health Tips
Continue with your gym routine. You might feel sore after a week but push through, gradually. Its worth it. All the best

Causes of sudden death are usually due to genetic disorders such as hypertrophic obstructive cardiomyopathy (HOCM) and long QT syndrome, which are rare. If you want to check for these conditions, it is advisable to do a 2D echocardiogram and an ECG.

One of the major causes of sudden death on exercise is HOCM, which is partly genetic and sometimes may not show any signs or symptoms before death. So get a 2D ECHO done. Also get blood tests - Lipid profile, HsCRP done. For anything more, kindly take an instant consultation or contact me at miracle health centre, Shalimar Bagh.
