From what you have explained I understand there is mass in throat detected by imaging and as a result he has breathing difficulty. The mass lesion needs to be evaluated by biopsy and diagnosis confirmed and treatment planned accordingly.

Looks like hoarseness with Breathing problems Please consult a good ENT doctor personally and get Video Endoscopy of throat done. I am worried about your father. Please do consult someone and do Video Laryngoscopy.
