Please get an x-ray of the wrist and hand. Children usually incur injuries commonly which have both soft tissue and bony component. Children are also prone to get epiphyseal injuries. They are difficult to predict without xrays as there is no deformity but swelling only. The growth plate if damaged, may lead to deformity as the child grows.
Please take this seriously and consult your orthopaedic.
