Hello. There are several types of hair loss and each requires a different treatment. While you do have a family history of baldness, your hair loss also could be stemming from/worsened by several other factors (such as dandruff, vitamin deficiency, poor protein intake, hardness of water where you live). It is not be possible to responsibly diagnose which type of hair loss you have, from your query alone. Please do consult a doctor, who would take detailed history, examine the scalp for skin health, hair health and pattern of hair loss; and possibly request some blood tests. This would help correctly diagnose your problem and give a suitable plan of treatment.
Next Steps
Consume a balanced diet with adequate protein, iron and vitamins. Consult a doctor for treatment of hair loss and scalp health.
Health Tips
When diagnosed correctly and early enough, all types of hair loss (even male pattern baldness that runs in families) can be controlled/treated with medications.
