Gum boil and red gums
My friend is 17 years and she has one gum boil on the top and the gums are red she doesn't brush on time and this boil has occurred all of a sudden

Please share some photographs of the effected area. Gum boil can occur due to infection or trauma, so to rule out proper history is needed.
Ask your friend to maintaine good hygiene by brushing twice a day
Use mouthwash and can also use gum paint.
Visit a dentist online or offline for diagnosis and treatment plan.

Maam , gum boils can be because of many reasons, if there is any history do let me know.
As you said poor oral hygiene can be one of the reasons.
So i would suggest you to maintain a good oral hygiene
Betadine gargle.
