I see you are 49 year young lady :) Hormonal changes do have effect on our gums. I would suggest you live a good lifestyle wrt Mind, Body,Soul. This in a way will help you keep your hormones balanced. I would suggest you opt a visit to Dental office and get evaluated if you require Scaling (Deep cleaning of teeth). This procedure will eliminate all local irritating factors (debris/ calculus/stains) inside your mouth and provide a good environment for your gum health. The Doctor on examining you and taking your history, may suggest few supplements if needed and will demonstrate oral hygiene steps.
Next Steps
Dental visit, scaling if needed.
Health Tips
Vit C supports collagen formation and is good for gum health. Consider taking under your local Dentist’s advice .
