Green colour stool in a 14 week infant is not a cause of concern unless it's associated with other symptoms like refusal to feed and loss of weight or unable to gain weight. Iron supplement can cause the stool to become dark green to black. Acquire healthy feeding habits, maintain hygeine.

No, this is generally not a cause for concern. Green-colored stool in breastfed babies is quite common, especially when: ⸻ ✅ Possible Reasons for Green Stool: 1. Iron Supplements: • Iron often changes the stool color to dark green or even blackish-green. • This is normal and not harmful. 2. Foremilk–Hindmilk Imbalance: • If baby is feeding short durations frequently, he may get more foremilk (watery) and less hindmilk (fatty), causing greenish stool. • Make sure baby empties one breast fully before switching to the other. 3. Normal Variation: • Stool color in infants can vary from yellow to green to brown even without illness.
Next Steps
⚠️ When to Worry: Contact your pediatrician if: • Baby has persistent watery green diarrhea • Blood or mucus in stool • Signs of dehydration (less urine, dry mouth, sunken eyes) • Fever, vomiting, or baby is unusually irritable or drowsy • Poor weight gain or feeding issues
