Glycomet dosage query

Question

Asked for Female, 29 Years

Have thyroid and taking Thyronorm 50. Since mild PCOD, I was also put on Glycomet 500 (metformin) a couple of months ago. Now my cycles are regular. Should I continue or stop Glycomet? Any side effects for Glycomet? Suggest please.

Hello... Glycomet is prescribed in patients with polycystic ovarian syndrome.... It increases receptor sensitive to insulin... Given in obese patients ... Reduce your weight , do fasting blood sugar and postprandial blood sugar test... If everything is normal you can discontinue , glycomet has no major side effects ,its safe drug .. Over dosage may cause acudosis..consult general physician with reports.
