I have a chipped front left tooth for which I need crowning. My doctor is recommending a root canal before the crowning is done. Is RCT really necessary. OPG scan is attached

Root canal treatment is required if there is any symptom of infection / if the nerve is expected to be exposed while preparing for the crown. If not a vital tooth can also have a crown without any problem for several years
