Taken 5 tabs of folsafe L (1500 mcg) only to find out it doesn't have folic acid. My doctor prescribed this tablet telling us why we need to take folic acid.
Pregnancy is 1st trimester.
Is my doc mistaken with the nams? Can't reach my doc as she is on holidays.
Plz advise what kind of side effects could mecobalamin give to the unborn child, if any.
Also taking prenatal vitamins which contains, among other things, 800 mcg of folic acid. We learned from various health websites that the maximum quantity of folic acid should be 1000mcg. So, if we take another supplement of folic acid it'd be well above the 1000 limit since the prenatal tab already has 800mcg.
Our doc doesn't talk too much and don't explain so many things (reason we re going to change).. Please advise

You didn't tell how many weeks pregnant you are. If you are less than 12 weeks then only take folic acid or folvite 5 mg one tab daily till 12 weeks or otherwise not required
