The growth of the fetus is peculiar, in first three months the weight is just about 25 grams, later by end of 6 months it goes to about 500 gm. At 19 weeks the growth of 260 gm is OK. Its not alarming, as it is just an estimation and the fetus gains most of its; weight ( measured at birth ) in the last 3 months i.e 7,8,9th months. So there is still time for you to put on weight.
Next Steps
When you are eating eat a well balanced diet. usually Indian diet if lacking in proteins and this can be corrected by taking increased dietary proteins like non veg foods like egg, meats, chicken etc. Vegetarians can consume legumes of various types like chana, moong, chawli, matki, chhole mutter, etc Roasted peanuts, chana are excellent sources of proteins along with dark green leafy vegetables. So dont worry, just concentrate on eating wisely and keep healthy
Health Tips
Commercially available protein powders like those advertised on TV have just 30 % proteins. Proteins being bitter have to be combined with carbohydrates to mask their taste and hence women taking these powders do gain weight but it is mostly fatty weight. So beware of this fact and try to get natural proteins from food.
