Fixed orthodontic therapy
We had started treatment for our son Master Naveen 8 months back. The doctor told us that his upper jaw bones are little out and can be corrected by wearing a head gear for 2 years. After 6 months of wearing headgear, she told that the upper jaw problem has been solved and we can go for the next phase of treatment. But she was not having the old x-Ray for comparing the difference. But we believed the doctor and agreed for the next phase of treatment. 4 tooth were extracted.. But in this also she made by mistake by extracting the number 5 teeth on right lower. But she convinced that root of this teeth is correct and hence we proceeded. But when she said that a fixed implant has to be put for better support, we told her that we had to consult some other Doctor and requested to hand over the x-rays and prescription. But she could give only 2 of the 3 x-rays we had given. The only paper she has given during 9 months of treatment is attached. Is this enough for consulting any other doctor

Consult with a dentist
Online now
your query is- is this enough for another consultation? No.  it is not enough.  the new dentist will look into it as a fresh case for which you will require her full mouth xrays & the side view (lateral cephalometry) xray plus some study models as well.  if you have all these the new dentist will be in a better position to explain you the intricacies of the treatment.  Also if you feel phase 1 has been done properly then I feel you should continue with your old dentist.

You can continue treatment with another orthodontist if not satisfied. He will treat your child's case as a fresh case only. But I will suggest you to try and understand the previous doctor's point of view. May be you and your doctor have communication gap and that's why she is not able to make you understand the treatment plan. If you are still not satisfied, you can go ahead and change the doctor.

You try to meet an orthodontist who practice independently, rather than a visiting consultant.he will be able to deliver better result to you. And don't worry about previous records.it can be treated as a fresh case.

Don't worry about that experience. The dentist whom you gonna consult should be able to evaluate this with current clinical condition along with necessary photos and radiographs should able to guide you to get desirable results.

This document is not sufficient for the dentist who plans to continue the treatment further...... but you need to understand that even despite proper documentation, the new dentist will take this case up as a new case and will require a proper examination and also some X-rays for the proper evaluation of the case and devising the treatment plan...... please understand that unless the X-rays have been done in any government institution at subsidized rate, they are a property of the patient and you have every right to ask for the same from the previous dentist.....

Orthodontic or clip treatment should be done by a orthodontist. Who are the right person to treat such case.  5th teeth or 2nd premolar space can be used to correct the problem but there r few compromise. U can get a cross opinion with existing x ray and the patient.proper planning is essential in achieving the desire goal. In ur case it looks improper.
