Fits nervous and dullness
At the age of 20 my brother attache0kd by brain stroke and Doctots adviced Eptoin tablet as course for 3 years..next told to stop due to no fits repeated...after stoping medicine 6 months again fits attached...now he is using Oxcarbazepine 600 mg twice daily...but he is looking very dull and getting nervous if he strain by mental work or attending more calls by mobile ... 15 days back he met Neurologist...but he adviced the same medicine...what to do?

Continue same medicines. Ask him to use relaxation techniques like yoga, meditation, daily exercise

Switch to valproate if he is not tolerating 1200 mg per day. Cross taper is the rule over a month. Start valproate 250 mg twice daily for 1 week then increase to 500 mg twice daily at same time decrease 300 mg of oxcarbazepine per week and stop in a month. Any doubts you may ask us
