It's too early to start finger foods. Start at 9 months of age. Also no food to be given in a lying down position. So no self feeding till baby starts sitting up properly.

Soft steamed food can be given at 6-8 months when the finger grasp starts to develop. It fully matures by 9 months of age. So definitely after 9 months you can give. But can be given before that at 6 months also if the baby shows interest and tries to grasp food.
Next Steps
Always feed in sitting position only, never in lying down Continue breast feeding as and when the baby demands , along with the complementary feeding Don’t give excess milk (top milk), avoid cow milk
