Fever of my son
Sir  my son who is 14 yrs old  is having fever since yesterday all of sudden . Fever is around 100/101°F but is going down after having Paracetamol.  No other symptoms of cold / cough/ sour throat or vomiting persist please suggest what is to be done. Please suggest  . Regards  Santanu

Round the clock paracetamol.give atleast 1.5 litres of water per day . Juices,coconut water . Start on tab zincovit 1 tab once daily . If any family members develop fever ....or if high persistent fever ..plz do following .rtpcr for covid,cbc,esr,crp. Be in touch with dr for regular monitoring  if fever persistent

Mostly a viral. check temperature periodically give paracetamol every 6 hrs once as required plenty of fluids observe for 48 hrs
Next Steps
if fever persisting more than 72 hrs and others symptoms like cough ,sore throat then please do COVID-19 RT-PCR.

Please give him paracetamol every six hours If temperature is more than 100 and keep a temperature check chart for every two hours if the temperature is persistently high for the next two days please get a RTPCR done to rule out COVID
